SERCO formed a coalition of representatives from community groups (churches, educational advocacy organizations) and significant Lower Richland natural and historic sites, local historians and preservation advocates, meeting at least once a month to review projects and organize programs. Below is a list of current projects.
A kick-off celebration for Christmas at Kensington offering tours, carriage rides, music, food, games and storytelling.

The 1920's Village of Hopkins. Enjoy Free Samples of Homemade Food Items. Dine and Dance at the Local "Tavern/Café". Shop for Last-minute Unique and Homespun Holiday Gifts. Tour the Museum’s Historical Artifacts, Maps and Photos. Visit the Site of the Rail Road Depot and Telegraph Office. Enjoy the Carnival, Hayrides and Antique Car Show. 11:00 a.m until 6:00 p.m.

Join us for our annual celebration of nature at Congaree! A variety of guided walks, canoe tours and demonstrations will take place throughout this exciting weekend.



Memorial Day Service at the Government Cemetery. Entertainment, food, vendors, and Children's Carnival at Harriet Barber House.


Juneteenth Celebration at the village of Hopkins, the Harriet Barber House and Hopkins Park with events at each location. Activities include: parade, drum shout, tours, horse shoes games, baseball games, hayrides, mule and wagon rides, traditional food and fun for the entire family

A two-day festival offering music, historic tours, children’s programs and community services that attracted approximately 6,000 visitors in 2007 from around the state to Lower Richland.
