SERCO TPS Unearthing Primary Resources

Remembrance, Restoration and Reparation of Stories for Black Land Matters

Inquiry Kits

This project trains intergenerational groups of TPS coaches (secondary students, high school teachers, and community members) in the Lower Richland community in South Carolina to use Library of Congress resources to explore land justice and reparations.

Each of the four theme-based kits includes guiding questions, primary resources from the Library of Congress, and tools to help students analyze and make sense of the past.

Visit the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Program & Join the TPS Teachers Network to find materials and resources to effectively use sources from the Library’s digital collection.

SERCO Unearthing Primary Resources TPS Project pages are sponsored in part by the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Eastern Region Program, coordinated by Waynesburg University.
